During the ‘90s, while the spearfishing techniques became increasingly popular,

Until ’87, the most basic alteration to commerce spearguns was to replace the tube with a stronger one.
The main objective was to minimize the distortion of the gun -due to the powerful bands that were already
being used- and increase its weight where it would reduce recoil.
These theoretically simple ideas, however, created a chain of practical problems:

Refusal of trigger mechanisms to hold the extra bands.
Distortion/Bending of the shaft at startup.
Negative buoyancy
Lack of lateral movement.


I started spearfishing in 1980.

My passion for big and ‘difficult’ game trophies forced me to look for solutions to existing problems, with the first priority being to cover my own needs and requirements.
In 1992 the approach of a new a gun took place. The aluminum tube was replaced with wood, the weak trigger mechanism has been replaced with new and stronger steel,
the hooks were redesigned from scratch and the shafts became thicker.
By 1993, I was able to have a strong gun but with problems in directional changeability, sensitive to cruel use and with special needs in maintaining it.
In 1995 I was probably the first manufacturer of wooden spearguns in Greece who had his own official spearguns series.

The period 2000 – 2002 was a milestone for me for two reasons.
The meetings with the great Amberjacks and the monstrous Tunas have finally come. They showed the weaknesses clearly and the questions became more specific.
I decided to look elsewhere and the world of synthetic materials opened up in front of me.
The ‘ultimate weapon’ was still on its way to the top and the need to build from scratch was now a fact.


The objectives were four and non-negotiable:

• The shot above 6m from the tip of the shaft will penetrate anything she meets in its path.
• Flexibility, so that the gun can follow the frenzied movement of the fish.
• Volume and weight calculated in absolute equilibrium to allow unmatched precision shots with minimum recoil.
• Diversity in use, with the only conversion the thickness of the shaft.

The persistent testing and analysis of their failures, the countless underwater video shootings, the detailed examination of all the specifications of the manufacturing process and corrections to even the smallest designing details,
have led me to today.
